Final Concept Map

Website (New Week)

Do you guys like the background picture I added to our homepage? I like the look of it but I want to find one that doesn't have the creator of the images name on it like how it faintly says "Shuttershock" across the background. Or maybe find a way to cover it up. I'm trying to figure out how to change the links on the left side of the page, too. I have my original resources but I'm going to wait to add them until I figure that out!

Storyboard Revisions and Web Site

Hi everyone,

So we completely forgot to add the big project as a page!  It slipped my mind when we were planning it as well, but we have a chance to edit it and turn it in again.  If anyone wants to make any revisions or help with a few ideas, go ahead an add it to the Google doc and we will turn in a revised copy to Sharon as soon as possible.  As soon as we get 50 points on the storyboard, we can start our web site (:

Hi everyone!

This week we are creating a storyboard for our website we have to create.  Just a reminder that this story board is due FRIDAY night, not Sunday!!  We each need to create 2 pages for our storyboard that go along with our project.  I was thinking of making pages for sports, nutrition, risks of unhealthy eating, exercise, BMI, etc.  If you have any other ideas, please post ASAP so we can get started on this.

We also have to create an original lesson, that can be a podcast, powerpoint, lesson plan, etc.  so we should be thinking of those as well (:

Digital Story

Hi everyone!

This week for the digital story, is it like we are creating our own story that has something to do with our topic?  Or like a digital presentation?  I was thinking of doing my digital story about the "Choose My Plate" diagram.  Maybe talking about each part of the plate and the benefits of each food groups?

Revised Collaborative Concept Map

Lesson Plan 2 and Concept Map

Hi everyone!

This week we are supposed to create a lesson plan where our students must collect some sort of data related to our project.  We can't use the same ideas, so I was thinking we should post our ideas here so we all are aware of each others' lessons.  Also, since Jessica created the original concept map, either Kati or myself must make the new adjustments.  This post should also be used to discuss revisions for the concept map, that way we are all on the same page and it's easier for the person revising it to include all aspects and ideas of our project.

Do you guys have any thoughts on how we should split up this assignment?

My boyfriend and I recently broke up so I am moving back to Kalamazoo and will be there this weekend to sign the lease on my apartment. So I'll be pretty tied up this weekend but I will still check the blog and keep in contact with you guys. Since this assignment is due next week maybe we can brainstorm ideas this week/weekend and record next week? Let me know what you think!

Hey guys! Hope you're having a good week :) I know these are individual papers but how are you guys doing with them?

Lesson Plan 1

Does anyone have any ideas on what they would like to do their lesson plan on?  I was thinking about doing mine about the health risks of unhealthy eating such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and having children research and make brochures for each one.

I think for the map we could focus on the accessibility of fresh, local foods here in Kalamazoo.  We could create a map of all of the farmers markets, food markets, and farms that sell produce in our area.  Our pen pal class could do the same and we could compare and contrast the two maps and which area has more access to fresh and local foods.  I am willing to create the map, I just want to run the ideas over with you all.  Please let me know what you think!

Virtual Pen Pal Assignment

Hello :)

So I was just looking at our next assignment and wanted to get a head start on it. When you guys look at it let me know how you think we should go about this! My idea is for each of us to type up our ideas for the cultural assignment and then we can combine some ideas or tweak the one we like the best so that we all agree on it. I'm going to start the Google Doc and invite you guys because we have to do this part of the assignment there and invite the professor to see our doc. I'm a little confused about the map thing so if you guys understand it better will you explain it to me? Thanks!

Web Evaluations

Just thought I'd touch base with you! I just sent my web review email to the instructor so once she emails me back I'm going to start looking for websites and filling out the web evaluations. As we start finding websites lets make a post for them with each of our names to make sure none of us are evaluating the same sites. Let me know what you think!
