Lesson Plan 1

Does anyone have any ideas on what they would like to do their lesson plan on?  I was thinking about doing mine about the health risks of unhealthy eating such as diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and having children research and make brochures for each one.

  1. I think I was going to do something with nutrition. What types of food you should eat during the day to stay healthy and maybe make a menu for a week or a month or something along those lines.

  3. Okay I am having students research the digestive system to understand the function of each digestive organ and explore where nutrients come from. I'm having a hard time figuring out what to have the students create from their research but i'm thinking about some kind of model. I just don't know how to tie in technology with this. Any ideas would be appreciated! Lol how are your guys lessons coming along? Let me know if you need any ideas or anything

    1. Did you have a chance to look at her sample lesson? That really helped me. You could have students use computers or watch videos to research each organ, that would incorporate technology!

  4. I tweeked my assignment a little bit. I decided to focus on heart disease and having my students research heart disease and make brochures for a "Jump Rope for the Heart" event. (The local elementary schools where I went usually do an event once a year). I don't know if this needs to be added to the concept map anywhere, maybe sprouting from the types of health risks bubble we could add heart disease, then another link to a Jump Rope for the Heart event. If you could add this sometime Jessica (or explain how I can edit it too!), that would be awesome (:
