Hi guys!
Do you guys have any thoughts on how we should split up this assignment?
My boyfriend and I recently broke up so I am moving back to Kalamazoo and will be there this weekend to sign the lease on my apartment. So I'll be pretty tied up this weekend but I will still check the blog and keep in contact with you guys. Since this assignment is due next week maybe we can brainstorm ideas this week/weekend and record next week? Let me know what you think!
-Jess
Sounds like a great idea! Are we discussing our project content, or the process of creating a project? Also, we have to include two concepts from the book. What kind of concepts do you think are being discussed? Would one concept be our collaborative learning idea with students around the world since that was an idea from the book?
ReplyDeleteEach team member will be required to discuss a different areas - for example, one group member can discuss why you are using Project-based Learning, the second could talk about what has been done so far, and the third group member could discuss where you are headed (to the big project). You will also be required to pull out at least two concepts from the textbook.
ReplyDeleteSo, we can split it up this way. I can discuss what where we are headed. Maybe we can do a google doc of what we are going to say then once we've edited it then we can each say our part on our podcast.
I can talk about why we are using PBL..
ReplyDeleteOk, we could talk about the things we have done so far in relation to the textbook. Like individual lesson plans and the benefits of rubrics and the interactive lesson plans and the benefits of collaboration with other classes. Those concepts were in the readings for the past couple of chapters. I can do that part!
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree we should talk about rubrics and benefits of collaboration. Those are both relevant to our project. And that sounds good Kati if you want to talk about why we are using PBL. Taylor, I don't care which part I talk about do you have a preference?
ReplyDeleteI can talk about the benefits of using those two concepts and how we have incorporated them into our project. Jessica, you can talk about the end product of the project and what we are trying to teach our students. You can discuss how the end activity of the health fair will be a more effective way to teach our topic as well. Or if you have any other ideas too! I think a google doc would be a great idea when we start making our script.
ReplyDeleteSounds great! Should we start a Google Doc, that way we can do a draft and work on it throughout the week and then go from there. once, its all done we can do the podcast?
ReplyDeletePerfect! We should create a google doc soon so we can get started (:
ReplyDeleteGood idea! Have you guys started a doc yet? I will start one right now if not
ReplyDeleteOk I sent you guys invitations for the Google Doc. If one of you already made one we can use that I just wanted to get started on something! Do you want to make the goal for our podcast to be at least a little over a minute each? Taylor,
ReplyDeleteI like your ideas for what we should each talk about! I'm going to start typing up a script discussing the end product of our project and how the health fair is an effective way to teach the topic.
And each of us should probably hit on ways we are incorporating technology into the project and why
ReplyDeleteAlso, how should we incorporate the Virtual PenPal assignment in our podcast?
ReplyDeleteI could use that as an example of collaboration with other classrooms (a concept in the book). Thanks for making the doc Jessica! 1 minute sounds good, if we go over a little bit, thats fine, but we should try to keep it between 1-2 minutes each
ReplyDeleteIn order to make sure that all of the podcasts are able to be compiled into one, I think we should shoot to have our individual recordings done by like noon on Saturday. Then we have most of the day Saturday and all day Sunday to compile them. Does that work for everyone?
ReplyDeleteYes that sounds good!
DeleteDo all of our recordings have to have music?
ReplyDeleteI am also adding the concept of adding a bulletin board or a classroom web site to post milestones and goals for our project, as well as deadlines and guest speakers. Sound ok with everyone? We haven't discussed this concept, so I just wanted to run it by everyone first (:
ReplyDeleteHas anyone started recording their podcast on Audacity?
ReplyDeleteI am finished with my audio but are we suposed to put them all together? i dont know how to do that!?
ReplyDeletei added music to the background of mine. but it was just playing as i was talking! do we upload our seperate or can i just email it to someone. I dont know how to link them all together
ReplyDeleteJUST KIDDING. it wont save as an MP3 and its not working anymore. I am freaking out. and not sure what to do
ReplyDeleteYou have to change what you save it as. There should be a dropdown menu somewhere that gives you the option of what to save it as. We are supposed to put them together and then add music I think...
ReplyDeleteAnd we have to combine them, we won't get credit unless they are all in one
ReplyDeleteI would email Sharon if you still can't figure it out
ReplyDeleteI did. I recorded it like seven times and it breaks it up into like 40 clips. I don know what is going on, there is no option to save it as an mp3.
ReplyDeleteI sent you guys the clip. let me know if it doesnt work. I sent it to your WMU email!
ReplyDeleteOk, I can't check it now on my phone, but if it doesn't work, email Sharon and ask what we can do. I will be home later tonight and I can check it then, but keep trying to save it as an MP3 file. Maybe look up some tutorials on youtube or google it. Thats what I did when I had some difficulty
ReplyDeleteok, how are we putting them together. I'm afraid to do so if my stuff is acting up.
ReplyDeleteKati, did you get it work? How is it going?
ReplyDeleteI just retried download the "lame" download thing and it said it converted so i am assuming the file i just sent to Jessica will work this time. *Fingers Crossed*
ReplyDeleteOk, did it save as an MP3? You don't need music on the individual one, we are supposed to add music to the final one I think
ReplyDeleteYes, i did save it and i dont have music on it either. It should work. I sent it to Jessica. I am awaiting an email whether it works or not.
ReplyDeleteOk sounds good!
